Project Overview
The Wedding Deck was a personal project designed for my own wedding — a fully custom deck of 52 hand-illustrated playing cards that doubled as each guest's seating assignment and served as their take-home favor. Every card was illustrated from scratch, drawing on the places, symbols, and moments that shaped our story — from the church and the ferry to a bee, a bouquet of lilies, and portraits of the two of us — all rendered in a soft, cohesive palette across the full suite.
ROLE
I illustrated every card in the deck by hand and developed the entire visual formula from the ground up — pattern, palette, and layout system all designed to work as a cohesive suite. Beyond the illustrations, I hand-built the seating chart mechanism directly into the cards, individually adding each guest's spine detail so the deck could double as a functional seating assignment. I also designed the packaging that housed the deck, since each one doubled as a party favor guests took home. Every piece of it — concept, illustration, layout, and packaging — was designed and produced by me.
